Slackpkg is an automated package-management tool for Slackware Linux. It can do tasks such as automatic downloading and installing or upgrading, browse the MANIFEST.gz (Slackware package-contents guide), and more. Dependencies are not automatically handled. It is not a replacement for pkgtool, but a valuable add-on.

The download in 'slackpkg update' is smarter and can check in ChangeLog.txt to see if something has changed since the last update. A new 'dialog' interface. was added to remove all third party or obsolete
packages from your machine. Many bugfixes were

By popular demand, the "old-style" output format is back. Many bugs
have been fixed in package lists generation. All slackpkg users need to
upgrade to 1.03. All older versions can't work with the new FILELIST.TXT
format and will give an empty list of packages. 1.03 can extend its
functions with modules or user functions. There is a new manpage.
