IPTraf is an ncurses-based IP LAN monitor that
generates various network statistics including TCP
info, UDP counts, ICMP and OSPF information,
Ethernet load info, node stats, IP checksum
errors, and others.

This release includes major changes to the
filtering system, including recognition of CIDR
notation, additional protocol recognition, and
automatic protocol name lookup. Interface support
has also been expanded.
This release fixes a bug in the detailed interface statistics where packets were not properly filtered out based on their interface name. This caused inaccurate counts and rates on multiple-interface machines such as routers and firewalls. Support for wireless LAN and additional DVB interfaces has also been added.
This version supports Token Ring interfaces and has TCP flow rate indicators, further improved sorting, protocol data rates, and wider filter coverage.
IPTraf now features a more detailed interface for miscellaneous IP packets
(i.e. non-TCP, non-UDP). Faster sorting has been implemented. This version also
currects bugs in the scanning code for closed entries, which caused 2.4 to
incorrectly mark active TCP entries as ready for disposal. Some minor cosmetic
errors were also fixed.
