The audio player was fully redesigned. It now supports repeating ayas, player scope, Ogg and SPX format, play mode for special items, pre-fetching, seeking support, shortcut for seek and the volume control, quick import for complete recitation pack files (.recit.zip), and audio player form enhancements. Key bindings were redesigned, and some new attributes were added to shortcut.xml for more flexibility. A Go To form was implemented. There were Cocoa enhancements, including support for the Application menu.
Advanced search using the Lucene full-text search library (Boolean operators, groups, wild cards, scopes, fuzzy search, etc.). An Uthman Taha theme featuring the me_quran font. Two versions of the Quran text: detailed and simplified. HTML export for bookmark sets. A new button in the "Manage Bookmark Sets" form to export any bookmark set into a single HTML file. Basic command line support: -index, -clean, and -workspace. Two new language packs: Pashto and Bosnian.
A bookmarking feature was added, allowing the user
to manage, export, and import bookmarks. The user
can also search for aya references through
bookmarks. Multiple translations are supported
with a custom mixed layout.
